ไทยChulalongkorn University, led by Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President, along with the university executive team, welcomed Professor Teiji Tominaka, M.D., President of Tohoku University, Japan, and his delegation for a meeting on academic collaboration on May 19, 2025, at the reception room on the 2nd floor of Chamchuri 4 Building.

Joining the welcome from the Faculty of Engineering were Associate Professor Dr. Witaya Wannasuphoprasit, Dean, Associate Professor Dr. Natt Leelawat, Assistant Dean for International Affairs, and Associate Professor Dr. Ronnapee Chaichaowarat, faculty member of the International School of Engineering Administration.

The discussion aimed to strengthen collaboration between the two universities, support joint research initiatives, and build connections between startup companies affiliated with both institutions. Tohoku University is the first university in Japan to be awarded research funding under the Japanese government’s Universities for International Research Excellence (UIRE) program, which promotes international research collaboration.
