Signing of Memorandum of Agreement Knowledge Cooperation and Joint Improvement of Knowledge in Sustainable Areas between Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University and KPMG Phumchai Business Advisory Ltd.

The signing ceremony of this Memorandum of Agreement was held at the Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University on December 24, 2024. It was signed between the Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University and KPMG Phoomchai Business Advisory Ltd. to demonstrate their commitment to collaborate in the exchange of knowledge and to promote the development of sustainable knowledge suitable for Thai society. This collaboration aims to drive businesses of all levels towards sustainability, thereby supporting Thailand’s efforts to achieve sustainable development goals. The cooperation covers aspects of environmental (Environment), social (Social), and governance (Governance) development.

The objectives of this collaboration are to jointly manage appropriate sustainable knowledge for the Thai business and society, enhance capabilities, integrate cooperation to develop the readiness of personnel, and promote collaboration in raising awareness of sustainable development among businesses and society. This includes supporting government policies on sustainability.

Under this collaboration, both parties have outlined joint operational guidelines to support knowledge exchange activities on sustainability. These include exchanging lectures between the Faculty of Engineering and the company in sustainability area, accepting internships by the company, and jointly supporting the organization of seminars to disseminate research findings on thought leadership and sustainability knowledge (Thought Leadership and Publication) in ESG from the practical perspective of businesses and academic research to support the creation of a sustainable development network in Thailand.

 

Associate Professor Dr. Wittaya Wannasuphoprasit, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, spoke about this collaboration, with KPMG in supporting and carrying out academic initiatives, as well as activities related to the development of knowledge in sustainability. This partnership aims to translate acquired knowledge into practical applications, including the development of expertise in ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance). It also focuses on enhancing the potential of engineering students in all ESG dimensions to become world-class engineers capable of driving businesses at all levels towards sustainability. This initiative aligns with and supports Thailand’s efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

 

Mr. Charoen Phusamritlert, CEO of KPMG Phoomchai Business Advisory Ltd., commented that the signing of this Memorandum of Agreement marks the beginning of an efficient collaboration. He expressed confidence that this partnership will lead to the development of knowledge and sustainability in various related dimensions, including the enhancement of personnel capabilities, knowledge and experience exchange, and the creation of new innovations beneficial to both organizations.

Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing Ceremony between Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University and AIFUL CORPORATION

On Friday, December 6, 2024, the Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, and AIFUL CORPORATION signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) under the Bachelor of Engineering program in Computer Engineering and Digital Technology. This partnership aims to develop a systematic connection between industry and the development of human resources in the fields of computer engineering and digital technology. The agreement was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Narongdej Keerati-Pranont, the program director of Computer Engineering and Digital Technology, and Mr.Shinichiro Okuyama, Managing Executive Officer of AIFUL CORPORATION, with Assistant Professor Dr. Nuengwong Tuaycharoen, Deputy Head of the Department of Computer Engineering, and Mr. Daisuke Ono, serving as witnesses.

Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing Ceremony between COWAY (Thailand) Co.Ltd., and Chulalongkorn University

The MOU signing ceremony between COWAY (Thailand) Co.Ltd., and Chulalongkorn University was taken at Suan Ruam Jai 1, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University on Thursday 21 November 2024. COWAY (Thailand) Co.Ltd., is the first water purifier in Korea. It provides trustful quality of drinking water. COWAY (Thailand) Co.Ltd., is proud to introduce a new drinking water culture to Thai consumers in order to constantly supply clean water along with other health products. Thus, water quality testing is very imperative to ensure the best quality to customers. COWAY (Thailand) Co.Ltd., together with the Department of Environmental and Sustainable Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University work together to analyze water quality as well as to find a solution for sustainability in the future. This collaboration strengthens both business and academic purposes of COWAY (Thailand) Co.Ltd., and Chulalongkorn University.

Chula Engineering signed a memorandum of understanding with Western Digital Storage Technologies (Thailand) Ltd.

On Thursday, November 14, 2024, the Faculty of Engineering at Chulalongkorn University signed a memorandum of understanding with Western Digital Storage Technologies (Thailand) Ltd., a global leader in innovation and the production of digital storage devices, including Hard Disk Drives and Solid State Drives. This collaboration includes the Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering and Digital Technology program, aiming to establish a structured link between the industry and workforce development in Thailand’s digital engineering sector.

Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University Joins China Education Expo (CEE) 2024 in Beijing to Showcase International Programs and Foster Academic Collaboration

On November 1-2, 2024, Chulalongkorn University, led by Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of the University, participated in the China Education Expo (CEE) 2024 at the China National Convention Center (CNCC) in Beijing. The delegation included senior university officials and leaders from the Faculty of Engineering, including Associate Professor Dr. Wittaya Wannasuphoprasit, Dean of the Faculty; Associate Professor Dr. Natt Leelawat, Assistant Dean for International Affairs; and Dr. Chee Keong Ngaw, representative from the International School of Engineering.

Chulalongkorn University Celebrates China-Thailand Diplomatic Milestone with “China Stories” Event Highlighting Chinese Enterprises’ Integration into Higher Education

Bangkok, October 25, 2024 – The Faculty of Engineering at Chulalongkorn University, in collaboration with the Chinese Cultural Center in Bangkok, hosted the “China Stories” program, focusing on the entry of Chinese enterprises into Thai universities. This event celebrated the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and the People’s Republic of China. Under the theme “Development of China-Thailand Economic, Trade, and Cultural Relations under the Framework of a China-Thailand Community with a Shared Future – Finance · High Technology · Automotive · Engineering,” the program aimed to strengthen economic, technological, and cultural ties between the two nations.

Prof. Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, and Ms. Xu Lan, Counselor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Thailand, presided over the event.
