Representatives from the Marshal Office of the Wielkopolska Region, Poland, visited Chula Engineering
On July 22, 2022, Professor Supot Teachavorasinskun, D.Eng., Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, together with Assoc. Prof. Pattaraporn Kim, Ph.D., Deputy Head of the Department of ChemicalEngineering; and Akawat Sirisuk, Ph.D., Program Chair of the Chemical and Process Engineering (International Program); welcomed representatives from Marshal Office of the Wielkopolska Region, Poland by Jacek Bogusławski, Member of the Board of the Wielkopolska Region; Beata Joanna Łozińska, Director of the Economy Department in the Marshal Office of the Wielkopolska Region; Prof. Michał Wieczorowski, Ph.D., B.Sc. Vice-Rector of Poznan University of Technology for Development and Cooperation with the Economy and Head of Division of Metrology and Measurement Systems; Piotr Głowski, Ph.D., Mayor of the Piła City; Łukasz Lindner, Ph.D., Lecturer in the Institute of Molecular Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences; Witold Nowak, First Deputy Mayor of the Konin City; Adam Lewandowski, Mayor of the Śrem City and Miłosz Stępień Sub-inspector, Economy Department, Marshal Office of the Wielkopolska Region, at Suan Ruam Jai Meeting Room 1, Engineering Building 3, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University. In addition to the introduction of each organization, there was a discussion on the possibility of collaboration on the related topic of hydrogen development.

Representatives from Institute of Technology of Cambodia visited Chula Engineering
On July 18, 2022, Professor Supot Teachavorasinskun, D.Eng., Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, together with Prof. Paisan Kittisupakorn, Ph.D., Associate Dean for Planning and Budget; Assoc. Prof. Chotirat Ratanamahatana, Ph.D., Assistant Dean for Research Affairs; Associate Professor Natt Leelawat, D.Eng., Assistant Dean for Communications and International Affairs, welcomed representatives from the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC): Dr. Or Chanmoly and Dr. Chan Sarin, at Suan Ruam Jai Meeting Room 1, Engineering Building 3, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University. The purpose of this visit was to discuss and learn about the KPI, career path, and research of Chula Engineering.

The 8th Steering Committee of the SATREPS DREAM (Area-BCM) Project
On Thursday, 30 July 2022 during 9.00-11.00 am, the 8th Steering Committee Meeting of the SATREPS Area-BCM (DREAM) Project was held in a hybrid manner at the Faculty Committee Room, Engineering Building 3, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University. The purpose of this meeting was to report the overall progress and plan of activities. For this Steering Committee Meeting, the session on the Project Extension proposal was also presented. Prof. Dr. Supot Teachavorasinskun, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University as a Project Director started with welcome remarks to all participants: researchers from both Thailand and Japan, and assistants. Also, it is a pleasure to welcome Mr.Thanakrit Phothong, Director of  Bangpa-In Industrial Estate, and Ms. Jamaree Yamkinfung from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA Thailand) as the observer to the Steering Committee. The Project Director pointed out the good collaboration among the actors for the project under the COVID-19 situation, especially risk and disaster management. Moreover, Area-Based, along with Business Continuity Management (BCM) was emphasized as all stakeholders; social and business should empower in solidarity to conquer the obstacles. The handover ceremony of the 5th Visawapat Dam at Huai Tang Ho, Nan Province
During 27th to 31st May 2022, students of Visiwapat camp, the Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University went to join activity with local habitants. In this activity, students tested the solar-cell pumps for draining water to the agricultural areas and acquired information from habitants who are members of Nam-Pia models in both demonstration and extended areas for further activities in the future. On 30th May 2022, the handover ceremony of the 5th Visawapat Damn at Huai Tang Ho, Nan Province was carried out. The previously mentioned dam was built in the month of January 2022. Assistant Prof. Dr. Chaiyaporn Phuprasert, the assistant to president, Chulalongkorn University, Associate Prof. Dr. Dr. Sanpetch Chuenithipaisal, Associate Dean for Student Affairs, Faculty of Engineering, students from the Visawapat student camp, the board of Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), representatives from The Siam Cement Public Company Limited (SCG), Mr. Nopporn Ruengsawang, the mayor of Ampher Nanoi, Mr. Rittha Thajai, the mayor of Tambol Santia, local offices and habitants of the previously mentioned area witnessed the ceremony and the altogether joined to plant durian trees. On June 7, 2022, Professor Supot Teachavorasinskun, D.Eng., Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, together with Professor Kasem Choocharukul, Ph.D., Associate Dean for Administration; Assistant Professor Natt Leelawat, D.Eng., Assistant Dean for Communications and International Affairs; and Mr. SHIMAZU Hideki, Project Coordinator of JICA Project for AUN-SEED-Net, welcomed representatives from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), Japan, led by Ms. OKAMURA Naoko (Assistant Minister / Director-General for International Affairs and Secretary-General of the Japanese National Commission for UNESCO), Ms. MIYATA Satomi (Unit Chief, Office of the Director-General for International Affairs), Ms. HARA Fumie (Assistant Secretary-General Japanese National Commission for UNESCO), Ms. KAWAMURA Hiromi (Coordinator for Educational Reform, Minister’ s Secretareat); and Mr. UCHIDA Takeshi, First Secretary, Embassy of Japan in Thailand; at Suan Ruam Jai Meeting Room 1, Engineering Building 3, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, and also visited the Engineering Library, Professor Arron Sorathesn Center of Excellence in Environmental Engineering, and the MI the making of innocatist Center.

Call for 15 Chula Engineering Undergraduate Students to join Global Awareness in Technology Implementation (GATI#7)
The Faculty of Engineering is calling for 15 Chula Engineering undergraduate students to join the 2100310 Global Awareness in Technology Implementation (#GATI Batch 7). GATI is a 3-credit undergraduate collaborative course between Chula Engineering and Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Tech, Japan). This year’s theme aims to make a contribution to realizing Sustainable Development Goals (#SGDs) using Artificial Intelligence (#AI) facilitated prototype or process. The course is conducted in English as an international project-based study. Chula Engineering students will work together with Tokyo Tech students. The lectures will be run by professors from Chula Engineering as well as Tokyo Tech and other experts from the field. In the 1st Semester of the academic year 2022, the GATI course will be on every Wednesday (August 10th to December 23rd, 2022) from 12:30 to 15:30 (Bangkok time). Students from Chula Engineering and Tokyo Tech will study together via an online platform. GATI Students from both universities will join the site visits together in Thailand (Tentatively in August-September 2022) and Japan (Tentatively in December 2022).
