Representatives from Hong Kong Polytechnic University visited Chula Engineering
On September 21, 2022, Prof. Tawatchai Charinpanitkul, D.Eng (Associate Dean of Academic Affairs) and Asst.Prof. Natt Leelawat, D.Eng. (Assistant Dean for Communications and International Affairs) welcomed representatives from Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Prof. Asif S Usmani (Chair Professor of Building Sciences and Fire Safety Engineering, Head of the Department of Building Environment & Energy Engineering) at Suan Ruam Jai Meeting Room 2, Engineering Building 3, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University. In addition to the introduction of each organization, there was a discussion on the possibility of collaboration on the Dual/Joint Program between Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University.

The 3rd year of environmental protection mission under theme “Make It Balance: the stability among food, water and energy”
On September 9th, 2022, the Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University together with the Chulalongkorn University radio station organized the Final Pitching of the Environmental Initiative Contest under the Envi Mission project: the 3rd year environmental protection mission under theme “Make It Balance : the stability among food water energy” at the Music Hall, Art and Culture Building, Chulalongkorn University. The goal of this activity was to install the concept of environmental conservation to high school students across the country and to encourage students to apply their knowledge and experiences gained from participating in the project to resolve problems in their own communities through the project work started since March 2022. This year, there were in total 201 teams from secondary schools across the country. Each team consisted of 3 students and 1-2 mentors. Thirty teams who passed the preliminary round attended a workshop at the Learning Network Center for the Region, remote campus of Chulalongkorn University, Saraburi Province for 3 days and 2 nights.  After that, 10 selected teams joined the activities in order to uplifting their important skills prior to the final round. The semi-final 10 teams presented their own projects illustrating initiation in environment issues and answered questions

Bachelor of Survey Engineering is accredited by Thailand Accreditation Board of Engineering Education (TABEE), Council of Engineers Thailand. Prof. Wipawee Tharmmaphornphilas, Ph.D. (Deputy Head of Department of Industrial Engineering), Asst. Prof. Poom Luangjarmekorn (Deputy Head of Department of Industrial Engineering), Assoc. Prof. Pisit Jarumaneeroj, Ph.D. (Department of Industrial Engineering), Assoc. Prof. Natt Leelawat, D.Eng. (Department of Industrial Engineering and Assistant Dean for Communications and International Affairs), and Puwadol Dusadeerungsikul, Ph.D. (Department of Industrial Engineering) welcomed representatives from Keio University: Prof. Shinichiro Haruyama, Prof. Naohiko Kohtake, and Project Assoc. Prof. Akira Kodaka, at the Meeting Room No.408, Department of Industrial Engineering, Engineering Building 4, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University. The representatives also visited Professor Arron Sorathesn Center of Excellence in Environmental Engineering, and the MI the making of innovatist Center.

Chula Engineering and AIS 5G showcase AIS 5G PLAY GROUND & 5G GARAGE The first Sandbox to be powered by 5G networks on 2600 MHz and 26 GHz Students and developers are invited to create 5G Use Cases to support the digital economy
23 August 2022: The Faculty of Engineering at Chulalongkorn University has partnered with AIS 5G since the initial trials of 5G in 2018 to the present. They have launched an R&D 5G centre, the first ever “AIS 5G PLAY GROUND & 5G GARAGE” in Thailand in Chula Engineering’s Centennial Memorial Building. Chula Engineering has installed a LIVE Private Network with 5G base stations on 2 frequencies: 2600 MHz and 26 GHz (mmWave), and other activities to support research into 5G innovation for both students and faculty. This support provided by the industry will strengthen the country as a whole. Wasit Wattanasap, Head of Nationwide Operation and Support Department at Advanced Info Service Pcl. (AIS), said at the launch of AIS 5G PLAY GROUND & 5G GARAGE, a cooperation with the Faculty of Engineering at Chulalongkorn University. “We are extremely honoured and proud to be involved in supporting education, providing spaces to develop readiness for students, developers and everybody involved in Thailand’s digital tech industries to have the chance for hands-on experimentation and develop their ideas with new technologies such as AI, ML, VR, AR, MR, IoT, Metaverse and Robotics, all on 5G. “Although Thailand has had commercial 5G services since

Representatives from Universitas Hasanuddin, Indonesia, visited Chula Engineering
On July 26, 2022, Professor Supot Teachavorasinskun, D.Eng., Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, together with Professor Tawatchai Charinpanitkul, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs; and Associate Professor Natt Leelawat, D.Eng., Assistant Dean for Communications and International Affairs; welcomed representatives from Universitas Hasanuddin, Indonesia led by Dr. Muh. Akbar, M.Si, Director of Innovation and Asset; Abdullah Sanusi, SE., MBA., Ph.D., Director of Alumni & Career Preparation; Dr. Ida Leida M., SKM., M.KM, M.ScPH, Director of Academics; Asmi Citra Malina, S.Pi., M.Agr., Ph.D., Director of Innovation and team, at Meeting Room No.213, 2nd Floor, Building 3, Faculty of Engineering and also visited MI the making of innovatist Center. The purpose of this visit was to discuss to know each other as well as find out the collaboration opportunities. After the meeting, the delegates also visited MI the making of innovatist Center, to see the place where Chula Engineering students can create the prototype from their ideas.

Call for Student Participants: International Visit 2022 Online Event between Faculty of Engineering, Gadjah Mada University, Indonesia, and Chula Engineering
It is a webinar activity filled with alumni or experts from both the Faculty of Engineering Gadjah Mada University (UGM) and the Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University (Chula Engineering) who work in 3 sectors, namely the manufacturing, infrastructure, and energy sectors to provide knowledge for students related to the development, potential, and differences in the work environment in the three sectors in two countries (Indonesia and Thailand). This activity contains presentation sessions from speakers and question-and-answer sessions by participants and speakers. English language is used as the main communication medium in the event. We are calling for 35 students from Chula Engineering to participate in this event. The students who join both days will receive a Certificate of Participation! Representatives from Institute of Technology of Cambodia visited Chula Engineering
On July 18, 2022, Professor Supot Teachavorasinskun, D.Eng., Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, together with Prof. Paisan Kittisupakorn, Ph.D., Associate Dean for Planning and Budget; Assoc. Prof. Chotirat Ratanamahatana, Ph.D., Assistant Dean for Research Affairs; Associate Professor Natt Leelawat, D.Eng., Assistant Dean for Communications and International Affairs, welcomed representatives from the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC): Dr. Or Chanmoly and Dr. Chan Sarin, at Suan Ruam Jai Meeting Room 1, Engineering Building 3, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University. The purpose of this visit was to discuss and learn about the KPI, career path, and research of Chula Engineering.

The 8th Steering Committee of the SATREPS DREAM (Area-BCM) Project
On Thursday, 30 July 2022 during 9.00-11.00 am, the 8th Steering Committee Meeting of the SATREPS Area-BCM (DREAM) Project was held in a hybrid manner at the Faculty Committee Room, Engineering Building 3, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University. The purpose of this meeting was to report the overall progress and plan of activities. For this Steering Committee Meeting, the session on the Project Extension proposal was also presented. Prof. Dr. Supot Teachavorasinskun, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University as a Project Director started with welcome remarks to all participants: researchers from both Thailand and Japan, and assistants. Also, it is a pleasure to welcome Mr.Thanakrit Phothong, Director of  Bangpa-In Industrial Estate, and Ms. Jamaree Yamkinfung from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA Thailand) as the observer to the Steering Committee. The Project Director pointed out the good collaboration among the actors for the project under the COVID-19 situation, especially risk and disaster management. Moreover, Area-Based, along with Business Continuity Management (BCM) was emphasized as all stakeholders; social and business should empower in solidarity to conquer the obstacles.
