Japanese government (MEXT) scholarship: Forefront program on GLOCAL civil engineering leaders for co‐development of Asia and Japan
The Graduate School of Engineering and the Graduate School of Environmental Studies at Nagoya University, as well as the Graduate School of Engineering at Gifu University are accepting applications from foreign students who wish to pursue a doctoral degree in the field of Civil and Environmental Engineering, with the financial aid of the Japanese Government (Monbu-Kagaku-sho: MEXT) Scholarship Program. The selection will be made by the submitted documents and internet interviews, and all applicants can apply for this examination without visiting Japan. The 5th Joint Coordinating Committee of the SATREPS DREAM (Area-BCM) Project
On Tuesday, August 10, 2022, at 13.00, the SATREPS Area-BCM (DREAM) Project organized the 5th Joint Coordinating Committee meeting (The 5th JCC Meeting), which was the hybrid platform; both onsite and online. This JCC meeting aims to provide a platform for experts and collaborating government agencies to learn about and update the progress of the project activities as well as give suggestions for project improvement. Especially for this meeting, the project extension plan for a year was presented. Over 60 participants from researchers, JICA Thailand officers, and collaborative entities joined the meeting both onsite and online from Thailand and Japan. First, Prof. Dr. Chakkaphan Sutthirat, Vice President of Chulalongkorn University, and Mr. Kawabe Ryoichi, the Senior Representative of JICA Thailand, had the opening speech, which remarks the importance of preparedness for natural hazards and counterstrategy for business continuity management. Additionally, both also emphasized the significance of the one-year project extension. As we learned from the unprecedented COVID-19 situation that becomes a huge obstacle for project implementation. However, the good efforts bring all together to continue the project working smoothly and archive the project goal of enhancing resilience.   After Assoc. Students from Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) visited Chula Engineering
On October 25, 2022, Assoc. Prof. Natt Leelawat, D.Eng. (Assistant Dean for Communications and International Affairs) welcomed students from Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Indonesia led by Mr. Intan Citra Phonskaningtyas (Student Ambassador for the Visit to Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University) at True Lab, Engineering Building 3, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University. After that, Assoc. Prof. Tirawat Boonyatee, D.Eng. (Deputy Head for Administrative Affairs, Department of Civil Engineering) welcomed the students to lab of civil engineering department.

Representatives from The University of Queensland visited Chula Engineering
On October 12, 2022, Asst. Prof. Channarong Banmongkol, Ph.D. (Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs) and Assoc. Prof. Natt Leelawat, D.Eng. (Assistant Dean for Communications and International Affairs) welcomed representatives from The University of Queensland (UQ), Australia, including Prof. Aleksandar Rakic (Associate Dean of External Engagement, Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology, UQ) and Ms. Angela Li (International Engagement Manager, Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology, UQ) at Suan Ruam Jai Meeting Room 2, Engineering Building 3, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University. In addition to the introduction of each organization, there was a discussion on the possibility of collaboration in the Dual Program between the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology of UQ, and the Faculty of Engineering of Chulalongkorn University. After that, Assoc. Prof. Supavadee Aramvith, Ph.D., (Associate Head for Internationalization Affairs and International Collaboration, Department of Electrical Engineering; and Head of Multimedia Data Analytics and Processing Research Unit) welcomed the representatives to the Department of Electrical Engineering’s CCTV Surveillance Testbed Center.

Exchange student from Chula Engineering in Tokyo Tech AOTULE Summer Program 2022 introduced Chula Engineering at Tokyo Institute of Technology
On August 8-9, 2022, Mr. Chanun Asavasirikulkij, an exchange student from Chula Engineering in Tokyo Tech AOTULE Summer Program 2022, introduced the Faculty of Engineering and his research. On the first day, August 8, 2022, Mr. Chanun Asavasirikulkij, presented the Introduction of the Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, at Multi-purpose Digital Hall, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan On the last day, August 9, 2022, Mr. Chanun Asavasirikulkij, presented his research in Tokyo Tech AOTULE Summer Program 2022 at the Collaboration Room, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan

Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University organizes corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities of providing sports equipment and school supplies, and installing PM2.5 air quality sensors under the ‘Sensor for All’ project for the 4th year in Phuket and Phang Nga provinces.
The Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University led by Prof. Kasem Choocharukul, Ph.D., Associate Dean, along with Prof. Paisan Kittisupakorn, Ph.D., Associate Dean, Prof. Tawatchai Charinpanitkul, D.Eng., Associate Dean, Assoc. Prof. Sawekchai Tangaramvong, Ph.D., Assistant Dean, Assoc. Prof. Natt Leelawat, D.Eng., Assistant Dean, Mrs. Sanguan Purahong, Administrative Director, and personnel of the Faculty of Engineering organized corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities of providing sports equipment and school supplies, and installing PM2.5 air quality sensors under the ‘Sensor for All’ project for the 4th year in Phuket and Phang Nga provinces. The objective was to encourage the personnel to participate in CSR activities to reduce pollution, preserve the environment and help society sustainably. It was also to promote the development of innovation for society and build a network of ‘Sensor for All’ cooperation as well as build strong relationships between agencies and organizations in the future. The activities were divided into two times as follows: 1St Time on July 7, 2022 The Faculty of Engineering provided and installed a PM2.5 air quality sensor under the ‘Sensor for All’ project for the 4th year at Phang Nga Provincial Government Center, welcomed and received by Mr. Chamroen Thiphayapongthada, Governor of Phang Nga Province, and

Student Affairs Activities: The 2nd year students of the Faculty of Engineering joined the corporate social responsibility project at Tambol Nongkop, Ampher Nong-saeng, Saraburi Province.
During 19th to 21st September 2022, Associate Professor Dr. Sanpetch Chuenithipaisal, Associate Dean for Student Affairs together with 2nd year students of the Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University joined the corporate social responsibility activity to build shelters and facilities for elderly people. The group also joined other activities with local habitants at Kok Nong-Na model located at Wat Nong Plab, Tambol Nongkop, Ampher Nong-saeng, Saraburi Province.

MoU Ceremony Event between Chula Engineering and Graduate School of System Design and Management, Keio University
On August 3, 2022, the Introduction to SDM, Keio Exchange Program at MoU Ceremony Event organized by Chula Engineering and Graduate School of System Design and Management, Keio University, was arranged Meeting Room 201A, Centennial Memorial Building, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University. It was successfully completed. As starting, Assoc. Prof. Paveena Chaovalitwongse, Ph.D., Head of the Department of Industrial Engineering, Chula Engineering, gave warm opening remarks to the honorable guests and attendees. During the event, there were four keynotes: the 1st KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Assoc. Prof. Natt Leelawat, D.Eng., Assistant Dean for Communications and International Affairs of Chula Engineering. He gave a talk with title of “Briefing of MoU” and “10 Reasons Why You Should Study at Chula Engineering”. The 2nd KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Prof. Shinichiro HARUYAMA, Ph.D., Graduate School of SDM, Keio University. He gave a talk “10 Reasons Why You Should Study at Keio SDM”. The 3th and the 4th KEYNOTE SPEAKERS: Prof. Naohiko KOHTAKE, Ph.D., and Project Assoc. Prof. Akira KODAKA, Ph.D., Graduate School of SDM, Keio University.
