AerCap announces scholarship program with Chula Engineering to support the growth and development of aviation in the SE Asia Region
BANGKOK – Thursday, February 17, 2022 – AerCap Holdings N.V. (“AerCap” or the “Company”) (NYSE: AER) today announced it will provide 10 scholarships to students of the Faculty of Engineering at the International School of Engineering at Chulalongkorn University, Thailand’s number one ranked university and a world-class leader in aerospace engineering education. Over a 4-year period, AerCap will provide 10 fully funded scholarships to students of the undergraduate degree program in Aerospace Engineering. In addition to the scholarships, AerCap will provide a range of tailored supports to students, including guest lectures and workshops, and summer internships. As part of the scholarship program, final year students will undertake a research project in collaboration with AerCap. The project will focus on AerCap’s environmental objectives, to transition to a lower-carbon economy through the purchase of new technology fuel-efficient aircraft, to reduce its carbon footprint and to drive sustainable growth for its airline customers and the wider aviation industry. AerCap has been leasing aircraft to Thai customers for over 40 years. Visawapat student camp, Faculty of Engineering and Chulalongkorn dormitory volunteer camp constructed dam and sediment trap dams together with local habitants at Tambol Ko, Ampher Li, Lampoon Province and Mae-ping National Park.
The scholarship program students together with the student committees, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University have created the service project with objectives to develop the area and to provide helps for local communities by organizing co-activities, leading to sustainable development and cultivation of public mind in society. The activities were carried out by making a survey at Tambol Ko, Ampher Li, Lampoon Province during 20th to 21st November 2021. The student group discovered major problem regarding lacking of portable water that at that time local habitants have to purchase clean water from private sector outside the area and water for agriculture was not adequate. The only source of water of the area was from waterfall and underground water contains high quantity of calcium, making underground water un-consumable. Therefore, on 27th December 2021, Professor Dr. Supot Teachavorasinskun, the dean of Engineering together with Associate Professor Dr. Professor Dr. Sanpetch Chuenithipaisal, Associate Dean for Student Affairs, Faculty of Engineering together Mr. Vorayuth Naovarat, the provincial governor of Lampoon Province and Mr. Boonsong Chaimanee, the office head of Lampoon Province signed the agreement to carry out activities to develop the areas in Tambol Ko, Ampher Li, Lampoon Province for sustainable development to uplift living

The 7th Steering Committee of the SATREPS DREAM (Area-BCM) Project
On Thursday, 9 December 2021 during 9.00-11.00 am, the 7th Steering Committee Meeting of the SATREPS Area-BCM (DREAM) Project was held in a hybrid manner at the Faculty Committee Room, Engineering Building 3, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, for the aims of reporting progress, exchanging ideas, and discussing future collaboration and direction with advisory members and collaboration entities. The meeting started with welcome remarks from Prof. Kasem Choocharukul, Ph.D., Associate Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, to project members and participants from collaborating organizations including the Department of the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), the Royal Irrigation Department (RID), and the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT). The associate dean said in his speech that the project has received good cooperation from the aforementioned sectors that could contribute towards the development of disaster risk management for industrial sectors and promote it to ISO/TC 292. Prof. Chakkaphan Sutthirat, Ph.D., Vice President for Research Affairs and the Chairman of the meeting, followed with opening remarks that put emphasis on the disaster-wide utilization of the developing toolkit under the project. AGU CSE Short Term Internship Program 2022 organized by the College of Science and Engineering of Aoyama Gakuin University is now open for application. The program provides participants an opportunity to conduct a hands-on research project under the guidance of a faculty member at their assigned research laboratory. The period of the program is 8 weeks between June 1 to July 31, 2022. Those who complete the program will receive a certificate.
