Professor and Students from Fukuoka Institute of Technology, Japan, visited the Department of Industrial Engineering, Chula Engineering
On September 3, 2024, faculty members and students from the Fukuoka Institute of Technology in Japan, led by Assoc. Prof. Tomiya Kimura, Assoc. Prof. Jing Fu, and Assoc. Prof. Elis Kulla, visited the Department of Industrial Engineering at Chulalongkorn University’s Faculty of Engineering. The visit aimed to strengthen academic and research collaboration between the two institutions in the future. . The visitors were warmly welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Angsumalin Senjuntichai, D.Eng. (Department head), faculty members, and researchers. During the visit, knowledge and innovations were exchanged from three laboratories: 1. Automation Lab led by Asst. Prof. Poom Luangjamekorn 2. Disaster and Risk Management Information Systems Research Unit led by Assoc. Prof. Natt Leelawat, D.Eng. 3. Advanced Manufacturing Lab led by Prof. Somkiat Tangjitsitcharoen, D.Eng. . This visit provided an opportunity to exchange ideas on cutting-edge research and laid the foundation for future academic and research collaborations, which are expected to benefit both institutions in terms of research and academic development.

Chula Engineering Celebrates AerCap Scholarship Awards 2024
Chulalongkorn University’s Faculty of Engineering proudly hosted the prestigious AerCap Scholarship Awards Ceremony on 5 September 2024. The event recognized ten outstanding aerospace engineering students for their academic excellence and promising futures in the aerospace industry. . The ceremony was graced by Mr. Joe Millar, Vice President and Head of Technical Asia Pacific at AerCap, alongside distinguished faculty members. Mr. Millar presented the scholarship certificates, a testament to AerCap’s unwavering commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders in aviation. . Assoc. Prof. Dr. Witaya Wannasuphoprasit, Dean of Chula Engineering, expressed profound gratitude to AerCap, highlighting the long-standing partnership that began in 2021. He emphasized how this collaboration has significantly enriched the academic and professional trajectories of Chula’s students. The scholarship recipients also shared heartfelt thanks, emphasizing the life-changing impact of AerCap’s support. . Congratulations to Dr. Aung Pyae from the International School of Engineering and his research collaborators from the Department of Environmental and Sustainable Engineering for receiving the Top Paper Award at the 3rd NIC-NIDA Conference 2024!
On 22 August 2024, Dr. Aung Pyae, a lecturer in the ICE programs at the International School of Engineering, was honored with the Top Paper Award for the presentation titled “Design and Development of a User-Centric Mobile Application to Promote Sustainable Hydration and Reduce Single-Use Plastic Water Bottle Consumption: A Case Study of Chulalongkorn University.” at the 3rd NIC-NIDA Conference 2024. This research was conducted in collaboration with the Department of Environmental and Sustainable Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University.

On August 5, 2024, the Faculty of Engineering at Chulalongkorn University, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Witaya Wannasuphoprasit, Dean of Chula Engineering, along with the administration and faculty members, welcomed a delegation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency – JICA, Japan. The delegation was headed by Mr. KAWAHARA Shuntaro, Team Leader of The Detailed Planning Survey Team. The purpose of the visit was to participate in the signing ceremony of the Minutes of Meeting between Chulalongkorn University and Japan International Cooperation Agency on Japanese Technical Cooperation for The Project for Data Driven Dynamic Transport Management in Emerging Metropolis for Climate Change Mitigation

Congratulations to Natchanon Jiwarawat, Thapan Leukulwatanachai, and Kunbhass Subhakornphichan, Nano-Engineering Students for Winning in the IEEE NANO 2024!
We are proud to announce that our 4th-year Nano-Engineering students, Natchanon Jiwarawat, Thapan Leukulwatanachai, and Kunbhass Subhakornphichan, along with Nano alumni Siwagorn Limwathanagura and Sittinadh Wanotayan, under the guidance of Dr. Porpin Pungetmongkol (ISE), have made significant strides in their research endeavors. Their innovative work, titled “RAPID AND LOW-COST FABRICATION OF GRAPHENE FROM PENCIL LEAD,” has been accepted for presentation at the prestigious 24th IEEE International Conference on Nanotechnology (IEEE-NANO 2024), which will be held from July 8-11, 2024, in Gijón, Spain. . Following their presentation, Natchanon Jiwarawat, Thapan Leukulwatanachai, and Kunbhass Subhakornphichan were recognized for their outstanding contribution to the conference with an award in the NANO Student Design Competition (SDC). This accolade highlights their dedication and the high quality of their research. . Chula Engineering welcomes Indonesian Ambassador and University Delegates
On July 19, 2024, the Faculty of Engineering at Chulalongkorn University, led by Assoc. Prof. Witaya Wannasuphoprasit, Dean of the Faculty, warmly welcomed H.E. Mr. Rachmat Budiman, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia and Permanent Representative to the UN ESCAP. . The delegation included representatives from various Indonesian universities: Prof. Dr. Denny Nugroho Sugianto (Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Diponegoro), Prof. Dr. Eng. Ni Nyoman Pujianiki ( Deputy Director for Academic and Program Planning, Postgraduate Program, Universitas Udayana), and Prof. Ir. R. Haryo D. A., ST, M.Eng., Ph.D. (Deputy Dean, School of Interdisciplinary Management and Technology, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS)). . The delegation had the opportunity to visit the Water Resources Engineering Department’s laboratories to observe the research on water management conducted by the Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University.
