Representatives from Politecnico di Milano and the Embassy of Italy visited Chula Engineering
On October 4, 2023, Assoc. Prof. Natt Leelawat, (Assistant Dean for Communications and International Affairs), Assoc.Prof. Duangdao Wichadakul, (Deputy Head of Research, Department of Computer Engineering), and Assoc. Prof. Nopdanai Ajavakom Deputy Head of Communications and Strategy, Department of Mechanical Engineering) welcomed representatives from Politecnico di Milano, including Prof. Cristiana Bolchini, (Delegate for International Relationships South East Asia, Politecnico di Milano) and Representatives from Embassy of Italy, Ms. Somsri Pobpipugtra, (Ufficio culturale, Embassy of Italy) at Suan Ruam Jai Meeting Room 2, Engineering Building 3, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University. In addition to the introduction of each organization, there was a discussion on the opportunities and possibility of collaboration at the faculty level, such as student exchange, and short-term programs.

Representatives from ECAM LaSalle Engineering School visited Chula Engineering
On October 26, 2023, Prof. Supot Teachavorasinskun (Dean of Faculty of Engineering), Prof. Tawatchai Charinpanitkul (Associate Dean of Academic Affairs), Assoc. Prof. Natt Leelawat (Assistant Dean for Communications and International Affairs), and Assoc. Prof. Witaya Wannasuphoprasit (Director of International School Of Engineering) from Chula Engineering welcomed representatives from ECAM LaSalle Engineering School, including Mr. Didier DESPLANCHE (Rector from ECAM LaSalle), and Mr. CHAI (ECAM LaSalle – Asia & Pacific) at Suan Ruam Jai Meeting Room 2, Engineering Building 3, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University. There was a discussion on the organize of ‘10th Year Collaboration Anniversary’ between ECAM LaSalle and Chula Engineering, propose Global Workshop at Chula Engineering, and propose collaboration with ECAM LaSalle – Cambodia and Chula Engineering.

On October 20, 2023, Prof. Tawatchai Charinpanitkul (Associate Dean of Academic Affairs), Asst. Prof. Channarong Banmongkol (Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs), Prof. Varong Pavarajarn (Chairperson of Chemical and Process Engineering), and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Witaya Wannasuphoprasit (Director of International School of Engineering (ISE)), Faculty of Engineering welcomed Prof. Ana Ivanovic (Director of Internationalisation and Student Recruitment), University of Aberdeen at Suan Ruam Jai Meeting Room 2, Engineering Building 3, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University. In addition to the introduction of each organization, there was a discussion on the opportunities and possibility of collaboration between both universities.

MoU signing between Chulalongkorn University and Chung Yuan Christian University
On November 30, 2023, The representatives from the Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, led by Prof. Supot Teachavorasinskun (Dean of Faculty of Engineering) and Prof. Tawatchai Charinpanitkul (Associate Dean of Academic Affairs) and Prof. Sheng-Jie You and Assoc. Prof. Jheng-Jie Jiang, representatives from Chung Yuan Christian University, joined the Memorandum of Understanding signing Ceremony between Chung Yuan Christian University and Chulalongkorn University signed by Prof. Bundhit Eua-arporn (President of Chulalongkorn University) and Prof. In-Ming Lee (President of Chung Yuan Christian University). The purpose was to collaborate between both institutions in students and faculty members particularly the Double Degree Master’s and Ph. D. Programs. Furthermore, the Ministry of Environment (MOENV) also arranged a visit to Chulalongkorn University to gain insights into the “Progress of research in the field of environmental engineering and water resources engineering in Thailand.” During this visit, there was a discussion on the “2023 Workshop on Soil and Groundwater Remediation and Environmental Protection Strategy in Taiwan and Thailand” about the current status of soil and groundwater pollution management and remediation in various countries. Chula Engineering participated in EBA Faculty Meeting 2023 in Japan to extend the international collaboration program for students
During November 23-24, 2023, Associate Professor Natt Leelawat, D.Eng., Assistant Dean for Communications and International Affairs, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, participated in the EBA Faculty Meeting 2023 at Keio University, Japan.   The Evidence Based Approach (EBA) program is the international collaboration to develop the multidisciplinary and multicultural program. EBA is a part of the SOI Asia. The mission of SOI Asia is to design a future resilience society in the Asia-Pacific region. Through the EBA, the university members can select the student to join each fieldwork program organized by the university members. There were 28 representatives from 17 universities who joined the EBA Faculty Meeting 2023. Chula Engineering understands the significance of such international collaboration and the benefits students can earn from joining the program. Chula Engineering is now a member of the EBA program.

Chula Engineering welcomed the delegation from JMA Consultants Inc., university and company from Japan
On October 20, 2023, Prof. Tawatchai Charinpanitkul (Associate Dean of Academic Affairs) and Prof. Somkiat Tangsitcharoen (Deputy Chief of Department of Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, welcomed the representatives including Mr. Koitabashi and Mr. Iimura from JMA Consultants Inc., Prof. Dr. Miyake from Yokohama National University, Prof. Dr. Yamashita from Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, Mr. Ikawa, Chiyoda from Chiyoda Corp., Mr.Takai from AZBIL, Mr. Yamaguchi from Toshiba, Mr.Tsumori from AOTS, and Ms. Iida from AOTS BKK office at  Suan Ruam Jai Meeting Room 2, Engineering Building 3, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University. Furthermore, representatives discussed potential ways to cooperate with Chula Engineering in future activities.

Call for appication ‘ Tokyo Tech AOTULE Summer Program 2024 ‘
Tokyo Tech AOTULE Summer Program 2024 Exchange period : June 1, 2024 – August 31, 2024 We would like to make an announcement on ” Tokyo Tech AOTULE Summer Program 2024” organized by the Engineering Schools of Tokyo Tech (School of Engineering, School of Materials and Chemical Technology, and School of Environment and Society). The exchange period will start from June 1 – August 31, 2024. Application : Postgraduate or final-year undergraduate students are eligible to apply. Up to two candidates will be selected. Chula Engineering Attends CEE 2023 in China to Promote Study Abroad Opportunities
Chulalongkorn University’s Faculty of Engineering attended the China Education Expo Shanghai (CEE 2023) on October 21-22, 2023. Assoc. Prof. Natt Leelawat, D.Eng., MBCI Assistant Dean for Communications and International Affairs, Dr. Jing Tang Lecturer, International School of Engineering (ISE), and Dr. Akawat Sirisuk Lecturer, Chemical and Process Engineering (ChPE) Program attended CEE 2023 as exhibitors for Chulalongkorn University. They were accompanied by the Office of International Affairs and Global Network (OIA) and other faculty members. The Chula Engineering booth provided information on the faculty’s admission requirements to parents and students who are planning their study abroad experience. Dr. Jing Tang was also invited to speak at the Study Abroad Seminar Session titled “Chulalongkorn University Starts a Happy Life.” In her talk, Dr. Tang shared her insights on the many benefits of studying at Chula Engineering, including its world-class faculty, research facilities, and vibrant student life. CEE2023 is one of the largest education expos in China, attracting over 100,000 visitors each year. Chula Engineering’s participation in CEE2023 was a valuable opportunity to promote its study abroad programs to a large and engaged audience.

Faculty of Engineering Organizes Witsawa Sueksa Project: Volunteer Spirit for Creativity and Development to Foster Local Relationships through Educational Initiatives in Rural Communities at Ban Kog Maeng Ngao School, Sosath Foundation, and Ban Don Du School in Mueang District, Nong Khai Province.
October 27–29, 2023 — The Faculty of Engineering at Chulalongkorn University, led by Associate Professor Dr. Kasem Choocharukul, Associate Dean for Administration, and Ms. Sanguan Purahong, Administrative Director, along with Ms. Siriluck Sanglaor, Head of the Volunteer Spirit Project, and a team of 26 volunteers, conducted an educational project titled ” Witsawa Sueksa Project: Volunteer Spirit for Creativity and Development ” from October 27 to 29, 2023. The initiative aimed to foster relationships with local communities through educational activities in rural areas. . The project took place at Ban Kog Maeng Ngao School, the Sosath Foundation, and Ban Don Du School in Mueang District, Nong Khai Province. Faculty members actively participated by painting sports fields, coloring playgrounds, preparing meals for students, and providing essential learning materials. Additionally, the team contributed a scholarship fund of 5,000 Baht to each school. . This endeavor reflects the Faculty of Engineering’s commitment to community engagement and its dedication to contributing to the holistic development of local communities.

Chula Engineering Explores Collaborative Opportunities with Top UK Universities at the HE Transnational Education Mission
Bangkok, October 16, 2023 – Prof. Dr. Natt Leelawat, Assistant Dean for Communications and International Affairs, and Prof. Dr. David Banjerdpongchai, Deputy Director of Innovation for Education and Research (ISE), represented Chula Engineering at the Higher Education (HE) Transnational Education (TNE) Mission held at Crowne Plaza Bangkok Lumpini Park hotel on October 16, 2023. The mission provided a unique platform for Chula Engineering to engage with top universities from the United Kingdom, fostering connections and exploring avenues for collaboration. Prof. Dr. Natt and Prof. Dr. David took the opportunity to showcase the innovative programs and research initiatives of Chula Engineering to their esteemed counterparts from the UK. The event served as a significant step in opening dialogue about potential collaborations and partnerships between Chula Engineering and leading universities in the UK. Discussions centered around mutual areas of interest, joint research projects, and exchange programs that could benefit students and faculty members from both institutions. Chula Engineering looks forward to building on the connections made during the HE Transnational Education Mission and further developing partnerships with top universities in the UK.
