The Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, and Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Tech), Japan, jointly organized the 8th Global Awareness for Technology Implementation (GATI#8), a collaborative course to learn and engage in academic activities in 2023, which is part of the course 2100310 Global Awareness for Technology Implementation. It is for students of both institutes to exchange learning and activities together, including learning about culture, traditions, laws, regulations, beliefs, ideas, practices, and social values under the 2023’s theme of Gamification for SDGs. During December 18-22, 2023, Associate Professor Natt Leelawat, D.Eng. (Assistant Dean for Communications and International Affairs; Course Coordinator), along with Jing Tang, D.Eng., Lecturer of the International School of Engineering; Course Coordinator), Associate Professor Proudpan Punyabukkana​, Ph.D. (Program Advisor), Head of Educational Administration, Academic Affairs Division, and engineering students traveled to participate in this program, Campus tour, Lab tour, and Workshop at Tokyo Tech, Ookayama Camous, Japan, with the warm welcome and hospitality from Prof. Eri Ota, Assoc. Prof. Rie Murakami-Suzuki, Ms. Yayoi Katori and students from Tokyo Tech. . They also participated in studying innovation, briefing of service of the wellness, SDGs, with executives/team members from NEC Main Office, Google Shibuya Office, SDGs Fieldwork and Company tour

Short Term Internship Program in the College of Science & Engineering, Aoyama Gakuin University, Japan The school offers short-term internship opportunities for foreign students, both undergraduate and graduate, in the following fields. Integrated Information Technology Industrial and Systems Engineering Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering and Electronics Physical Sciences Mathematical Sciences Chemistry and Biological Science Each accepted student will be assigned to a research laboratory and conduct hands-on research projects under the guidance of a faculty member. Further details on the possible research fields, laboratories, supervisors, and projects are described in a separate brochure. The period of the program is approximately 8 weeks from the beginning of June, 2024. The official language used is English. Congratulations Mr. Kumpol Saengtabtim, a Ph.D. Student in Industrial Engineering Program, who received back-to-back the Originality Award, from the Tokyo Tech Academy for Convergence of Materials and Informatics (TAC-MI) Intelligent Services: a Social Perspective Workshop 2023, December 7-8, 2023, at Oiso Prince Hotel, Oiso, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. . . TAC-MI Intelligent Services: a Social Perspective Workshop 2023 was organized by Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan, in order to allow the Ph.D. students to work together and share their ideas to propose new services solving the social problems by artificial intelligence based on the theme From Efficiency to Sufficiency. . Currently, Mr. Kumpol Saengtabtim is the 3rd year Ph.D. student with C2F scholarship under the supervision of Associate Professor Natt Leelawat, D.Eng. (Department of Industrial Engineering); and Jing Tang, D.Eng. (Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Engineering Program, International School of Engineering).

On November 21, 2023, Associate Professor Natt Leelawat, D.Eng., Assistant Dean for Communications and International Affairs of Chula Engineering, visited Aoyama Gakuin University (AGU) in Japan. The visit aimed to solidify the partnership between the two institutions and discuss future collaborative programs. Professor David W. Reedy of AGU’s College of Science and Engineering welcomed Assoc. Prof. Natt and discussed the highly successful AGU-Chula 2023 program. The program allows students from both universities to participate joined some classes and exchange cultural perspectives. The meeting also focused on planning the 2024 program to enhance this collaborative initiative further. Following the discussion, Assoc. Prof. Natt toured Professor MATSUMOTO Toshiyuki’s lab under the guidance of Assistant Professor Nakano. This visit provided valuable insights into AGU’s research activities. Assoc. Prof. Natt then joined a meeting with Professor CHO Hideo, Dean of AGU’s College of Science and Engineering, Professor Yoneyama, and Professor David W. Reedy. The meeting focused on the AGU Short-Term Internship Program (STIP), which welcomes Chula Engineering students each year for internship opportunities within AGU’s research labs. This visit to AGU underscores the commitment of both institutions to fostering international collaboration and providing their students with enriching educational experiences. On October 17, 2023, The representatives from Chulalongkorn University led by Asst. Prof. Pongprot Chatraphorn (Vice Dean for Public Finance and Budgeting of Graduate School of Chulalongkorn University), representatives from Faculty of Engineering led by Prof. Supot Teachavorasinskun (Dean of Faculty of Engineering) and Prof. Tawatchai Charinpanitkul (Associate Dean of Academic Affairs), and Prof. Hong Kam Lo (Dean, School of Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology) joined the Memorandum of Understanding signing Ceremony between The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Chulalongkorn University signed by Prof. Bundhit Eua-arporn (President of Chulalongkorn University) and Prof. Yike Guo (Provost of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology). The purpose of this collaboration is for both institutions to establish the Double Degree Master’s Program.
