Call for application! Short-term study exchange program (1 semester) at National Taipei University of Technology (NTUT) in September 2023 – January 2024 To encourage outstanding students from the Indo-Pacific to study in Taiwan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) initiated the New Southbound Policy Short-term Study Program. Through this program, students will take semiconductor along with Chinese language courses at National Taipei University of Technology (NTUT), and received the funding from MOFA. At Falling Walls Lab Thailand, students and early-career professionals of all disciplines pitch their ideas in English in front of an expert-jury and the interested public – in just 3 minutes. 📣The winner of Falling Walls Lab Thailand will travel to Berlin to attend the prestigious Falling Walls Science Summit and present his/her idea on the big stage of the global Falling Walls Lab Finale on 7 November 2023 – all travel/accommodation expenses covered. Additionally, the winner of Falling Walls Lab Thailand will be awarded the EURAXESS ASEAN prize, which supports the visit of a research institute of the winner’s choice in Europe when participating in the finale in Berlin! Representative from RWTH Aachen University visited Chula Engineering
On June 16, 2023, Assoc. Prof. Natt Leelawat, D.Eng. (Assistant Dean for Communications and International Affairs), Assoc. Prof. Paveena Chaovalitwongse, Ph.D. (Head of the Department of Industrial Engineering), Assoc. Prof.  Vachara Pheansupap, Ph.D. (Deputy Head of the Department of Civil Engineering (Graduate Studies, Research Affairs)), Assoc. Prof. Wipawee Tharmmaphornphilas, Ph.D. (Deputy Head of the Department of Industrial Engineering), Assoc. Prof. Daricha Sutivong, Ph.D. (Professor of the Department of Industrial Engineering) and Assoc. Prof. Boonchai Sangpetngam, Ph.D. (Professor of the Department of Civil Engineering) welcomed Dr.-Ing. Amon Göppert (Chief Engineer, Head of Department), a representative from RWTH Aachen University, Germany, at Suan Ruam Jai Meeting Room 2, Engineering Building 3, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University. In addition, Ms. Meike Huber, a Ph.D. student from RWTH Aachen Universit, also attended the meeting. Ms. Meike is currently an exchange Ph.D. student at the Department of Industrial Engineering under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Natt Leelawat, D.Eng. They visited the Engineering Library and the MI the making of innovatist Center as well. In addition to the introduction of each organization, there was a discussion on the opportunities and possibility of collaboration at the faculty level, such as research exchange.

Call for 12 Chula Engineering Undergraduate Students to join Global Awareness for Technology Implementation (GATI#8)
The Faculty of Engineering is calling for 12 Chula Engineering (junior and senior) undergraduate students to join the 2100310 Global Awareness for Technology Implementation (#GATI Batch 8). GATI is a 3-credit undergraduate collaborative course between Chula Engineering and the Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Tech, Japan). This year’s theme is Gamification for SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). The course is conducted in English as an international project-based study. Chula Engineering students will work together with Tokyo Tech students. The lectures will be run by professors from Chula Engineering as well as Tokyo Tech and other experts from the field. In the 1st Semester of the academic year 2023, the GATI course will be every Wednesday (August 9th to November 22nd, 2023) from 12:30 to 15:30 (Bangkok time). Students from Chula Engineering and Tokyo Tech will study together via an online platform. GATI Students from both universities will join the site visits in Thailand (August 29-September 6, 2023) and Japan (Tentatively in December 2023). The enrolled students will be responsible for flight tickets, accommodation (Japan and Thailand), and other expenses. The faculty will provide partial support for the students. BKK One Day Tour: A Cultural Journey for Chula Engineering’s International Students
The Office of International Affairs, Chula Engineering, proudly organized the BKK One Day Tour program, offering a unique opportunity for international students to immerse themselves in the rich cultural heritage of Thailand. The program, which took place on June 2, 2023, successfully connected nine international students with the vibrant sights and sounds of Bangkok. The BKK One Day Tour program aimed to provide a comprehensive cultural experience for the participants by exploring two prominent locations in Bangkok – the Museum Siam and Wat Phra Chetuphon Wimonmangkalaram Ratchaworamahawihan or Wat Pho (temple). With the goal of fostering cross-cultural understanding, the program offered international students a chance to delve into the heart of Thai culture, history, and traditions. The day began with a visit to the renowned Museum Siam, where students were enthralled by the interactive exhibitions showcasing the fascinating history of Thailand. From ancient civilizations to modern times, the students gained a deeper understanding of the country’s diverse heritage and its profound influence on Thai society today. After an insightful exploration of Museum Siam, the group proceeded to Wat Pho, one of Bangkok’s most iconic temples. (Associate Dean of Academic Affairs), along with Assistant Professor Natt Leelawat, D.Eng., (Assistant Dean for Communications and International Affairs), Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, welcomed the representatives from Leave a Nest, Singapore, including Mr. Michael Maekawa (Director of Leave a Nest Singapore Pte. Ltd.), and Mr. Ham Kai Jie (Assistant Manager, Leave a Nest, Singapore) at iThink Meeting Room, Engineering Building 3, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University. Furthermore, representatives discussed with Chula Engineering ways to cooperate, promote, and support activities for TECH PLAN DEMO DAY in Thailand 2023 event and other future activities.
