The Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) published the Universities’ Preparedness and Response Towards Multi-Hazards: COVID-19, Natural, and Human-Induced Hazards, which is the case studies report prepared by Associate Professor Takako Izumi (Tohoku University, Japan), Professor Rajib Shaw (Keio University, Japan), and Vice Director Hui Zhang (Tsinghua University, China). The case study of “Thailand: Chulalongkorn University” prepared by Professor Supot Teachavorasinskun, D.Eng. (Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University) and Assistant Professor Natt Leelawat, D.Eng. Chula Engineering faculty member was invited by the Japan Cabinet Office to be a speaker in “Smarter City: Data Driving Smarter Decisions” webinar
On Mach 4, 2021, Assistant Professor Natt Leelawat, D.Eng., Assistant Dean and Assistant Professor of the Department of Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, was invited by the Japan Cabinet Office to give a talk in S-Booster x MGA Collaboration Webinar – Space Applications in Motion “Smarter City: Data Driving Smarter Decisions”. Asst. Prof. Natt Leelawat, D.Eng., gave a talk on “SNS x GNSS = Smart & Sustainable Tourism Business” which is one of his current research project “COVID-19 Data Analysis Using Mobile Services Data and Satellite Geospatial Data Towards Sustainable Tourism Business” supported by the JICA for AUN/SEED-Net Special Program for Research Against COVID-19 (SPRAC).

Staplect Team from Chulalongkorn University won the Winner Award from SCG Bangkok Business Challenge 2021
Chula Engineering congratulates the Staplect Team of Chulalongkorn University who won the Winner Award from the SCG Bangkok Business Challenge @ Sasin. The Staplect Team consists of Mr. Krit Uthaisang (Undergraduate student of the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Engineering Program, International School of Engineering, Chula Engineering), Mr. Chavaroj Thongpoch (Undergraduate student of Chulalongkorn Business School), Mr. Thanapat Pornsirianant (Undergraduate student of the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Engineering Program, Chula Engineering), and Ms. Napassorn Triwiratchakul (Undergraduate student of Chulalongkorn Business School); with the team advisor, Dr. Jing Tang (Lecturer of the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Engineering Program, International School of Engineering, Chula Engineering). The SCG Bangkok Business Challenge was organized by Sasin School of Management and SCG. It is Asia’s longest-running global student startup competition. The 2021 competition was organized during February 19-20, 2021. Its theme was “Growing Beyond Profit with Sustainable Innovation 2021”. There were 58 teams from 8 academic institutes across the country that joined this year’s competition. As being the winner, the Staplect team will receive the USD 3,000 prize and will secure the place to join the global competition.

We would like to make an announcement on “AGU CSE Short Term Internship Program 2021” organized by College of Science and Engineering of Aoyama Gakuin University. The program provides participants an opportunity to conduct hands-on research project under the guidance of a faculty member at their assigned research laboratory.The period of the program is 8 weeks between June 1 to July 31, 2021. Those who complete the program will receive a certificate. Application:Post graduate or final-year undergraduate students are eligible to apply. Up to 16 students will be selected.
