Chula Engineering students won the 3rd Winner from the ASEAN Data Science Explorer 2021 Thailand

The SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) Training with Chula Engineering was organized on May 25, 26, and 29, 2021, by the Chula Engineering’s International Affairs Office in collaboration with ASEAN Foundation and SAP. The trainers included Associate Professor Oran Kittithreerapronchai, Ph.D. (Lecturer of the Department of Industrial Engineering), Amonsiri Vilasdaechanont, Ph.D. (Lecturer of the Department of Industrial Engineering), and Jing Tang, D.Eng. (Lecturer of the Robotics and Artificial Engineering Program, International School of Engineering). It was the training to increase the skill of data visualization using SAC.

After the training, many students joined the ASEAN Data Science Explorer 2021 competition organized by ASEAN Foundation and SAP. There were 6 teams from Chulalongkorn University that passed to the national final 10 teams. And after the national final round on August 26, 2021, Team DoubleT from Chula Engineering won the 3rd Winner Award from the ASEAN Data Science Explorer 2021 Thailand.

Team DoubleT consists of Ms. Thita Wongwanit (Undergraduate student of the Department of Industrial Engineering) and Mr. Tarm Kalavantavanich (Undergraduate student of the Department of Computer Engineering)

The project of DoubleT is called Strategies for Cleaner and More Sustainable ASEAN which supports the Sustainable Development Goals SDG7, SDG11, and SDG12.

Free Online Lecture Series in the “Emergency Management Workshop”

The Risk and Disaster Management Program, Graduate School, Chulalongkorn University in collaborations with the SATREPS Regional Resilience Enhancement through Establishment of Area-BCM at Industry Complexes in Thailand (DREAM/Area-BCM) Project; the Disaster and Risk Management Information Systems Research Group, Chulalongkorn University; and the Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, presents the Emergency Management Workshop. The workshop provides
free online lecture series in 3 days, April 27-29, 2021. All lectures are conducted in English.

The workshop contents support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Goal 8, Goal 11, and Goal 13.

Congratulations to an Industrial Engineering Graduate Student who won the Best Presentation from the MSIE 2021, Japan

Ms. Sansanee Sapapthai, a Master’s student of the Department of Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Natt Leelawat, D.Eng., Department of Industrial Engineering, won the Best Presentation Certificate from the 3rd International Conference on Management Science and Industrial Engineering (MSIE 2021), Japan, organized by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Singapore Chapter during April 2-4, 2021.

Ms. Sansanee presented her research titled “Success Factors of Business Continuity Management Implementation Using Analytic Hierarchy Process-A case of an automotive part company in Ayutthaya Province, Thailand” by Sansanee Sapapthai; Asst. Prof. Natt Leelawat, D.Eng.; Jing Tang, D.Eng. (International School of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University); Asst. Prof. Akira Kodaka, Ph.D. (Keio University, Japan); and Assoc. Prof. Eri Ino (Nagoya Institute of Technology, Japan).

On Mach 4, 2021, Assistant Professor Natt Leelawat, D.Eng., Assistant Dean and Assistant Professor of the Department of Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, was invited by the Japan Cabinet Office to give a talk in S-Booster x MGA Collaboration Webinar – Space Applications in Motion “Smarter City: Data Driving Smarter Decisions”.

Asst.
