Prof Bundhit Eua-arporn, dean of Chulalongkorn University’s Faculty of Engineering, announced recently that his faculty had collaborated with the Tokyo Institute of Technology to organise this year’s AOTULE Deans Meeting, Administrative Staff Meeting and Postgraduate Conference, held from October 17 to 19.
The event was attended by the deans of the eleven members of AOTULE (Asia-Oceania Top University League on Engineering) and more than 200 academics and other agents in engineering education.
Founded in 2007, AOTULE is an inter-university cooperation that aims to transform engineering education in the Asia-Oceania region. Its framework consists of the annual meeting of deans of engineering schools and faculties to develop programmes and strategies that are relevant to research symposiums and exchange programmes for students, academics and administrative staff.
“In celebration of the 100th anniversary of Chula engineering, we worked with the Tokyo Institute of Technology to organise AOTULE 2013, with an aim to improve the quality of engineering education.
“We hope this event will bring about the exchange of experience and expertise of each institution, including outcome-based learning, use of information technology in classrooms, and accreditation, so that engineering education in the Asia-Oceania region will advance as a whole,” said Bundhit. “The Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, was very honoured to host the 8th edition of the conference this year,” he added. – The Nation
